Another way that Reno is changing to provide more opportunities to visitors is by welcoming new and experimental events. One such event is the Burning Man festival which takes place for one week every summer. The actual festival is located in Black Rock City, but Reno is the closest decent size town. On the way to and from the festival, many patrons often stop for a day or two in Reno. Also, the hotels in Reno have jumped on board, offering discounts to visitors who attend the festival. The majority of festival-goers at the Burning Man event choose to camp on the festival grounds, but the possibility of cheap hotel stays is opening the festival to many patrons who would rather not camp for a week. It is this ability to adapt that will continue to expand the possibilities found in Reno, Nevada.
